Steven M. Bedell, CFP®, AIF®, RICP, CFS® has been assisting individuals, families and businesses with their investment, retirement and financial planning needs since 1995.
Mr. Bedell founded Omega Capital Management, LLC in 1999 on the principles of being truly independent and providing his clients’ the investment and financial planning services he believed would best suit their long term needs and objectives.
Prior to founding Omega Capital, Mr. Bedell was employed as an investment adviser representative for an investment advisory and financial planning firm in Morristown, New Jersey where he assisted his own clients as well as clients of the firm with all aspects of their investment and financial planning needs. Prior to that, Mr. Bedell was employed directly out of college by Lehman Brothers in New York City and enrolled in their broker trainee program. While employed at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Bedell realized that being a commission based broker was not the ideal way to truly build lasting relationships as well as building an investment advisory and financial planning business. Mr. Bedell also participated in a one year internship at Shearson Lehman Brothers in Hartford, CT while attending college.
Mr. Bedell is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional as certified by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and is required to complete 30 hours of continuing education credits every two years.
Steven is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary as certified by the fi360 and is required to complete 6 hours of continuing education credits each year.
Steven is also a Certified Fund Specialist™ as certified by the Institute of Business & Finance.
Mr. Bedell holds a license as an independent insurance agent in the state on New Jersey and the state of New York.
Mr. Bedell is commissioned as a Notary Public. Mr. Bedell served as a member of the Mt. Olive Board of Adjustments from 2007 through 2009. In 2010, Mr. Bedell was appointed to serve as a member of the Mt. Olive Planning Board and did so through 2013. He was also appointed as a Trustee for the Mt. Olive Public Library in January 2010 and continues to serve in that capacity. He has held the roles of President, Vice President and Treasurer of the Library board.
Mr. Bedell resides in Flanders, NJ with his wife Jennifer and his three children.
